Training
All training is done with a remote collar specially suited to your dog. Only the highest quality collars are used for optimum efficiency and consistent training together they equal maximum training.
After the initial consultation with our certified trainers, the right collar will be fitted to your dog and training begins.
The trainer will thoroughly instruct you in the placement and application of the collar. Instruction will continue, in the instructor’s hands, who will work thru each immediate issue and/or behavior your dog has that requires immediate action. The instructor will then walk you thru the use of the collar for each immediate action. You can be assured that you will be comfortable using the collar and the training plan before the trainer leaves. You will know exactly how to use the collar in the training of your dog.
The trainer will leave a business card with you, which will include a cell phone number you can always reach your trainer with any concerns or questions you may have about the use of the collar or the training plan.
The Training Plan, which is set out at the initial consultation, will be followed in the training of your dog. At no time will you feel “left alone”, our trainers our certified in remote collar training and provide all the follow up you need to reach the maximum level of obedience that you desire for your dog.
After the number of home sessions have been completed, you will then move into the group classes where you will continue the training under major distractions. The distractions will provide a platform for maximum obedience for your dog. You decide the number of training sessions you need per week and you will always have the guidance of your Certified Remote Collar Specialist to help you every step along the way.
The first command you will learn will be COME. Our trainers start with COME, because this is the most often requested command from our clients. COME will be followed by SIT, DOWN, WAIT, OFF, QUIET and PLACE. What? No STAY??!!? A "Stay" command is not used because each command that you give the dog, requires the dog to perform an action. So when you tell your dog to "Sit" or to "Down" the dog MUST go into motion to complete the command. Once the dog is in a "Sit" or a "Down" then you tell him to "Stay". Why??? What action must the dog perform to "Stay"? There is no need for the command STAY if your dog is in a SIT or a DOWN they aren’t moving so why use the command STAY? After all, SIT MEANS SIT AND DOWN MEANS DOWN! Your dog will be executing these commands in as little as two weeks OFF LEASH! So where is the command HEEL you will find that your dog will HEEL naturally, due to the consistency of your training and the use of the remote collar.
Advanced training will include such commands as OVER, TURN, FETCH, and OUT. From there the sky is the limit as you gain confidence in your ability to use the collar and follow thru with the Training Plan, you will be able to teach your dog any behavior your heart desires.
